Spotlight on JAMS Speaker: Hon. James Ware (Ret.)

Join us for an entertaining discussion about the challenges facing this country’s privacy laws, and what should be done in this digital age to protect one of our most fundamental rights – the right of privacy.

With the recent explosion of digital media, the law has struggled to keep pace as products like Google Glass, websites like Facebook and Twitter, and technology like Apple’s iCloud become ubiquitous.  As celebrities see their “private” photos leaked and ordinary citizens see their smartphones seized and searched, judges across the country are faced with applying outdated privacy laws to brand new technology.  How can the law keep up?  Should we expect it to?

Light refreshments, beer and wine will be served during the networking portion of the event (5:00 – 6:00 p.m.). There is no charge to attend this program but pre-registration is required.
