Orange County - Hon. Daniel J. Didier (Ret.), a recently retired Orange County Superior Court judge, announced today he has joined JAMS, The Resolution Experts, the nation’s largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services. During his 20 years on the bench, Judge Didier presided over a wide variety of civil litigation and trial matters, primarily as a trial and settlement judge. He will be based in the JAMS Orange Resolution Center.
“Judge Didier is respected for his attention to detail and for his ability to reach compromise and resolution in even the most complex matters,” said Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO. “He has a strong record of utilizing mandatory settlement conferences resulting in the settlement of over 40 civil cases each month. Highly regarded for his work ethic, Judge Didier has presided over cases in the areas of business commercial, construction, construction defect and land subsidence, employment, environmental, intellectual property, tort and personal injury, products liability, professional negligence, real estate, planned developments, and homeowners associations. During his career as a jurist, he served as Supervising Judge, served on the Orange County Court Executive Committee and twice served on the Superior Court Appellate Panel.
Prior to taking the bench, Judge Didier worked as a Deputy County Counsel for Orange Country, where he was assigned to the civil litigation section as lead airport attorney handling the expansion of John Wayne Airport.
Among his professional accolades, he was named Judge of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Orange County Chapter, in 2007. He is a Member of the California Judges Association and current President of the William P. Gray Legion Lex Inn of Court and is a former member of the Orange County Bar Association. In addition, Judge Didier is a Master Bencher of the American Inns of Court.
A former adjunct professor of law at Western State University College of Law, Judge Didier served in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a recipient of the Vietnam Service Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. He is a Licensed Private Pilot as well as a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator.
He earned his J.D. from Western State University College of Law in 1977, and his M.B.A. in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California. He earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton in Business Administration in 1973.
