Four Additional JAMS Neutrals To Serve As ADR Committee Members
San Francisco - JAMS neutral Hon. Daniel M. Hanlon (Ret.) has been reappointed as Chair of the 2009-2010 Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the California Judges Association. Justice Hanlon has been selected as Chair of the Association’s ADR Committee each year since 2006. In addition, four of his colleagues - JAMS neutrals Richard Chernick, Hon. Harry W. Low (Ret.), Hon. John W. Kennedy, Jr. (Ret.) and Hon. Charles S. Vogel – have been reappointed to serve as members of the committee.

Justice Hanlon, who is based in the JAMS Santa Rosa Resolution Center, is known for his ability to settle complex cases involving a wide range of civil litigation issues. A former Presiding Justice of the California Court of Appeal and former Presiding Judge of the San Francisco Superior Court, Justice Hanlon's ADR experience and qualifications are rooted in his 28-year tenure on the bench. He has conducted more than 2,800 settlement conferences and 200 mediations over the course of his career. While presiding as a San Francisco Superior Court Judge, he conducted the only DES market share determination trial in the United States. In addition to numerous professional affiliations, Justice Hanlon serves as an adjunct professor of law at Empire College of Law.
Richard Chernick and Justice Vogel are based in the JAMS Los Angeles Resolution Center. Judge Kennedy is based in the JAMS Inland Empire Resolution Center while Justice Low is based in the San Francisco Resolution Center.
The California Judges Association was established in 1929 and is the professional association representing the interests of the judiciary of the State of California. Members include judges and retired judges of the Superior Courts and Courts of Appeal, Commissioners of State courts and State Bar Court judges.
