San Jose, CA - JAMS neutral Hon. Read Ambler (Ret.) has received an official Resolution and Commendation as well as a Certificate of Appreciation by unanimous vote from the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors, for his prior extensive work with the juvenile justice system. Formerly the Presiding Judge of the Santa Clara Superior Court, Judge Ambler is based in the JAMS San Jose Resolution Center.
“I am greatly honored to receive this resolution and certificate from Santa Clara County,” said Judge Ambler. “Working with juveniles with education handicaps has been a passion of mine, and has been tremendously rewarding for me. I very much appreciate these honors from the county.”
During his impressive career in the Santa Clara County Juvenile Court, where he spent 5 of his 20 years on the bench, Judge Ambler’s efforts resulted in more than 4,500 delinquent and dependant youth receiving appropriate educational services since 1999. Additionally he was lauded for founding YEA! (Youth Education Advocates!) and his tireless commitment to training law enforcement and education professionals on the relationship between delinquency and learning disabilities. He was a founder of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, and is a past member of the Child Abuse Council of Santa Clara County. He was named Judge of the Year by the Santa Clara Trial Lawyers Association.
Judge Ambler joined JAMS as a neutral in 2000, and has extensive experience in resolving business and commercial, employment, intellectual property and real estate disputes. San Jose Magazine has annually recognized him as one of the top mediators in Silicon Valley. In addition to his work in more than 1000 cases as a mediator, arbitrator, discovery referee, and special master, Judge Ambler serves on the JAMS Board of Directors and the JAMS National Arbitration Committee.
