Irvine - JAMS neutrals
Judge Ken Kawaichi and
Judge William McDonald recently served as editorial consultants and revision authors for the Jefferson’s
California Evidence Benchbook published by Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB).
“I was honored to be asked to contribute to this
Benchbook. It was the concept of the Justice Jefferson, a giant in California judicial history. I enjoyed working with my fellow colleagues and the authors in updating this useful tool,” said Judge Kawaichi.
“We are certain the book will provide many useful resources for legal professionals in California,” said Judge McDonald.
CEB and the California Judges Association are joint publishers of the Jefferson’s
California Evidence Benchbook, which provides guidance to researching evidence issues before going to hearings, depositions and trials. The latest update, its fourth edition, covers witness cross-examining another witness; settlement agreements through mediation; business records as testimonial evidence; and admissibility of cold hits from DNA databases. The book has been cited in more than 260 published appellate opinions.
