Hon. James N. Reese (Ret.) has heard well over 1,000 cases in his 11 years as a JAMS neutral. Judge Reese is an expert mediator and arbitrator in construction contracts, medical malpractice, business, real estate, personal injury, sexual harassment and wrongful termination issues.

  • Heard more than 1,000 cases and developed a reputation as a skilled mediator since joining JAMS in 1989
  • Has particular expertise in settling personal injury, medical malpractice, business, law and motion (discovery), labor relations, real estate, sexual harassment and wrongful termination cases
  • Presided over a variety of civil litigation matters, including those involving personal injury, construction contracts, family law, labor relations and contracts, medical malpractice, business, law and motion, and real estate while serving on the Superior Court bench
  • During his tenure on the Court of Appeal and in the Appellate Department of the Superior Court, he authored more than 30 opinions that were certified for publication
