Robin H. Gise, Esq. has extensive experience mediating and arbitrating employment disputes including discrimination claims, executive compensation and FLSA/wage and hour claims. Known for her ability to quickly grasp complex business and legal issues, Ms. Gise works closely with the parties to identify and develop solutions. She has experience handling difficult interpersonal dynamics and pursues each case with sensitivity and persistence. Prior to becoming a neutral, she practiced as a labor and employment attorney and has a deep understanding of the substantive law in this area.

  • Mediated numerous employment matters involving claims of breach of contract, sexual harassment, and discrimination (age, gender, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation), hostile work environment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and claims related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • Mediated and/or co-mediated cases involving Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemptions, unlawful deductions, and state wage and hour law disputes involving individual employees, class actions and collective actions
  • Mediated executive compensation disputes regarding bonuses, commissions, severance, and equity valuation, including one for breach of contract and failure to pay commissions brought by employees of a small investment firm
  • Mediated breach of employment contract claim alleging misrepresentation and seeking to piercing the corporate veil brought by former CEO of a fashion company
  • Arbitrated employment contract dispute in the financial industry involving a claw back claim
  • Mediated pregnancy discrimination claims involving employees of a high end fashion accessories company and of a prominent hotel chain
  • Mediated sexual harassment claim in the legal industry
  • Mediated gender discrimination claims brought by numerous employees of a regional bank after a reduction in force
  • Mediated disability discrimination claim alleging failure to accommodate brought by employee of a real estate management company
  • Mediated and/or co-mediated numerous overtime claims brought by insurance claims managers involving shipping company service managers, financial portfolio managers, field technicians and employees of a fast food franchise
  • Mediated FLSA overtime claim brought by superintendent of residential apartment building
  • Arbitrated numerous labor-management disputes, including contract interpretation questions and grievances, in the education, healthcare and transportation industries
