Hon. Glen M. Ashworth (Ret.) presided over hundreds of settlements and bench and jury trials during his 22 years of distinguished service on the 86th Judicial District Court. He is known for his ability to quickly grasp key issues and develop creative solutions for the resolution of the most complex matters. Widely recognized for his dedication and persistence in the most contentious disputes, Judge Ashworth has earned a reputation for fairness and independence. Since joining JAMS, Judge Ashworth has garnered extensive experience in the resolution of complex multi-party disputes in all areas of civil litigation.

  • Settlement of dispute between landowners and a major gas producer regarding acreage involved in royalty interests
  • Resolution of breach of contract claims between land man and oil company regarding a production override
  • Mediated bankruptcy claims by well operator claiming “down hole” negligence and damages by well servicing company
  • Resolved disputes between operators and working interest holders pursuant to Joint Operating Agreements
  • Arbitrated drafting disputes arising from sale of large independent oil and gas company to major gas producer
  • Mediated investor dispute involving the operation of a methane gathering facility
  • Handled landowner disputes with utility companies arising from condemnation proceedings
  • Mediated alleged “Ponzi” scheme claimed by multiple governmental agencies against oil and gas investment fund
  • Mediated several serious injury cases that involve wrongful death claims arising from oil field and drilling platform accidents
  • Handled several cases involving claims stemming from pipeline explosions
  • Chair of Tri-Partite Arbitration panel determining allocation of sale proceeds and forfeiture of interests arising from sale of large gas field by two production companies to major gas company
  • Chair of Tri-Partite Arbitration panel in lawsuit regarding contract dispute between general and limited partners and incentive unit holders of a billion dollar plus midstream oil and gas private equity fund
  • Arbitrated several claims arising from serious oilfield related injuries and wrongful deaths
