Michael D. Ranahan, Esq. has been a neutral with JAMS since 2005, and brings over twenty years of experience as a personal injury litigator to his ADR practice. Mr. Ranahan has handled a comprehensive mix of complex catastrophic and serious injury claims.   • Mediated claim against the State of California arising out of a motor vehicle accident with plaintiff claiming significant personal injuries 
  • Mediated uninsured motorist claim where claimant suffered major injuries requiring back fusion surgery 
  • Mediated truck/bicycle accident wherein elderly plaintiff suffered a traumatic brain injury; causation, damage, and extent of injury were vigorously contested 
  • Mediated multiple cases while participating in “Settlement Days” with major insurance carrier 
  • Mediated slip and fall claim where plaintiff suffered traumatic brain injury with resulting cognitive deficiency 
  • Mediated car/motorcycle collision with plaintiff motorcyclist suffering a significant foot fracture with resulting chronic pain and permanent disability 
  • Mediated underinsured motorist claim involving several vehicles with insured suffering a severe shoulder injury requiring surgery and multiple fractures 
  • Mediated multiple landlord/tenant disputes involving personal injury claims and warranty of habitability defenses
