Hon. Michael J. Trickey (Ret.) joins JAMS after 22 years as a respected jurist. He was appointed to the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division I, in 2014, serving most recently as acting chief judge. Prior to his tenure at the Court of Appeals, he served on the King County Superior Court for almost 18 years.

Judge Trickey began his legal career as a public defender and transitioned to private practice, where he spent 14 years gaining extensive trial and appellate experience. He handled civil litigation cases, including family law and personal injury, along with substantial juvenile court work, including offender and dependency matters.

ADR Experience and Qualifications

  • Practiced law for 16 years before becoming a superior court judge
  • Tried more than 100 jury trials in state and federal courts while in private practice
