Hon. Charles S. Vogel (Ret.) has an established record as an effective, fair, and articulate jurist and lawyer. He is widely recognized for his intellect, integrity, candor, and pragmatic approach to litigation and dispute resolution. Justice Vogel's career includes seven years on the trial bench followed by 14 years in private practice as a litigation partner appearing in a variety of complex cases. In 1993, he was appointed to the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District where he served as the Presiding Justice of Division 4 and the Administrative Presiding Justice until 2004. With this background, Justice Vogel has gained extensive experience and knowledge of the law and has a keen perspective on the resolution of complex multiparty disputes.

  • Disputes among partners of CPA accounting practice regarding expulsion of partner, and distribution of profits and other assets
  • Dispute between member of law firm and partner regarding governance and authority of firm to expel partner

Real Estate

  • Dispute involving a start up computer server business and its leaser, as the leased space did not provide the necessary computer connections; lessee abandoned the space without terminating the lease, and the landlord sued for accrued rent and other damages
  • Disputes involving property managers and incorporated homeowners associations
  • Disputes between homeowner and association regarding enforcement of CC&Rs
