Each month from January through July 2016 the ABA will host a webinar that will focus on different phases of the mediation process, as well as useful analytical techniques and strategies for mediators. Programming will also provide in-depth discussion on common barriers and ethical issues mediators face in reaching durable agreements.

How do advocates walk the fine line between puffery and lying? How do mediators move from a conceptual understanding of the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators to applying the rules in specific cases. What guidance do mediators have for appropriate actions? Perhaps more importantly, what potential sanctions do mediators face if they violate an ethical rule? Does the answer differ for attorney-mediators and non-attorney mediators?
