To meet growing demand for expert, independent and impartial neutrals in the Asia-Pacific Region, JAMS is pleased to offer experienced, trained and vetted international arbitrators and mediators who work in and around the region through strategic alliances in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
These alliances represent a deepening of existing relationships in the region, and recognize the importance not only of first-class ADR capabilities, but also the importance clients attach to finding mediators and arbitrators with appropriate cross—cultural understanding and linguistic skills. Thus, we are pleased to offer a diverse panel of mediators and arbitrators fluent in multiple languages and dialects including Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese in addition to every panelist being fluent in English.
Mediation and Co-Mediation
Building on our relationship with the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC), JAMS brings to market a team of leading commercial neutrals from Mainland China and Hong Kong. The Asia-Pacific Panel of Commercial Mediators offers decades of professional experience across a range of commercial sectors in the APAC region including construction, insurance, IP, banking, energy and technology.
Depending on the circumstances of the case, co-mediation (combining mediators of different skills and backgrounds) has proved successful in resolving complex commercial disputes where cultural or linguistic divides have proved an obstacle to settlement. Both existing JAMS panelists and new alliance members are flexible in travelling to accommodate clients’ choice of venue.
With substantial trade between the US and China, an apolitical means of resolving disputes away from home courts is a growing priority for commercial entities. To meet such demand, JAMS is pleased to announce a new Sino-American panel of international arbitrators, launched in co-operation with the Shenzhen International Arbitration Center.
The panel launches with a group of experienced arbitrators whose appointments span a range of industry sectors and legal practice areas. These include JAMS international arbitrators from Europe, the United States and leading figures from the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) in China.
