Representative Matters

  • Architect/Builder: Represented an architectural firm defending a developer's claim of failing to represent its view of design and building concepts resulting in termination of architect and starting over on project
  • City vs. Contractors: Mediated a significant dispute relating to appropriate use of materials to prevent cave-ins at major building excavators
  • Construction Defect: Served as special discovery master in litigation involving failed imported steel beams for the Convention Center
  • Cost Overruns by Builder: Bathroom project - mediated a homeowner's claims of improper installation of unapproved appliances in the bathroom; the costs were not as agreed by the parties
  • Defective Condo Drains: Represented builder-contractor in major failures in misplaced drains flooding condominium complex - resulting in the basic rebuilding of a new building
  • Fire Loss Disputes: While in private practice, was appointed by the King County Superior Court on a regular basis to act as the third party to resolve disputes between insurance carriers and home owners in fire losses
  • Homeowner vs. Builder: Arbitrated plaintiff's claim for failure to follow design plans, cost over-runs and incidental claims of resulting health problems and bankruptcy
  • Homeowner vs. Painting Contractor: Mediated claim against a painting contractor whose work lasted about six months before peeling and blistering
  • Luxury Home: Represented contractor in litigation dealing with cost over-run, delays and building errors
  • Remodeling Project: Mediated a homeowner's claim of failure to detect and correct "rot" and other problems that resulted in "dream home" remodel
  • Shared Property Use: Mediated claims of developer over joint use of garages, driveways, and landscaping
  • Wrong Lot: Mediated claim involving the building on the wrong lot
