ChIPs Women in IP Global Summit
Spotlight on JAMS Speaker: Hon. Fern M. Smith (Ret.)
October 1, 2014 | 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
“Making Your Case”
This year, on October 1st from 9-12 ChIPs will be adapting its very popular “Making a Winning Pitch” event with a mock argument exercise to be held before panels of judges from district court, federal circuit, PTAB, ITC and other agencies. Space is limited to qualified participants.
The full-day Women in IP Global Summit will take place on October 2nd, with a cocktail party immediately afterwards, and a speaker’s dinner the evening before, on October 1st. In past years, the Summit quickly sold out and brought together over 250 women from a wide array of backgrounds, including private and public corporations, academia, law firms, judiciary, governmental agencies and institutions, and public interest, to engage in a dialogue on cutting edge issues relating to intellectual property and to build relationships with one another. This year’s agenda will include substantive panels, fireside chats and relationship-building opportunities with intellectual property’s most influential, innovative and strategic leaders from Silicon Valley, Washington, DC, and beyond, who have been at the forefront of forging new ground in their fields. A portion of the program will be reserved for the speakers’ personal stories, which in the past have ranged from sharing with the audience the path to how they achieved their position and success, to discussing their approach to watershed decisions in their professional career and personal life. And back by popular demand, we will have a photo booth for attendee headshots and other new additions.
