- Acted in mediation and arbitration respecting commercial and trust interests and obligations
- Acted as counsel to Canadian and international financial institutions in mediation of many issues relating to the regulation of those institutions, particularly securities regulatory matters
- Chairman of an annual conference of financial industry professionals meeting to consider interventions with regulators in respect of matters affecting those institutions
- Acted as counsel to numerous parties in contentious mergers and acquisitions and mediation of inter-party differences arising in those transactions

- Negotiation on behalf of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce of the disclosure regime applicable to it and other Canadian chartered banks in connection with proposed financings
- Negotiation on behalf of the underwriters of the disclosure obligations of Sun life Financial Inc. in connection with the demutualisation of that company
- Negotiation of the disclosure obligation of bank sponsored derivative products in Canada
- Responsibility for the strategic direction of a private trust dispute and the ensuing arbitration respecting asset valuation
- Negotiation of the terms of the wind down of a merchant bank and the division of assets amongst owners of its managers
