Event Women Lawyers: Tips from the Bench

A Panel Discussion of Women Judges and Practitioners.

Join the ACBA and JAMS as we sit down with Bay Area Judges Winifred Smith, Tara Flanagan, Ioana Petrou, and Lynn Duryee.

Teresa Drenick, Alameda County District Attorney's Office will serve as moderator of this informative and collegial evening. She will direct questions to a particular judge, alternating the judge who gives the lead answer, and other panelists may chime in. Teresa will ask the judges some of the hard questions that lawyers are sometimes fearful of asking.

Panelists are encouraged to interact with one another and the moderator.

The discussion will include topics such as:

  • When and how to dispute a tentative ruling
  • Choosing your discovery motion battles
  • Impact of Court Call over personal appearance
  • Impact of gender in the courtroom

Join us for a fun and entertaining evening! The program is directed to women lawyers, with lots of great information for everyone. Wine and cheese provided.
