According to the State Bar of California Standing Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct Formal Opinion, “an attorney’s obligations under the ethical duty of competence evolve as new technologies develop and become integrated with the practice of law."

Lawyers must understand technology at least at a basic level to be able to properly counsel their clients. The seminar will provide a fundamental overview of computer storage including types of memory and different types of storage devices. Panelists will also provide an overview of the different types of data, as well as computer forensics.
