The panel will discuss the Illinois Supreme Court and Circuit Court of Cook County rules relating to mandatory mediation of parenting issues, the Illinois Mediation Act, lawyers’ professional responsibilities in mediation, the basics of mediation, which cases or issues are good for mediation, and the differences between civil unions and marriages.
