Housing Rights & Cultural Sensitivity During the Age of COVID-19

These unprecedented times have been extraordinarily challenging - uniquely so for individuals experiencing homelessness, those at high risk of being evicted and those from the Black or Latinx community. 

In today's climate, housing instability can be a death sentence because lack of access to stable, safe housing limits the ability to shelter-in-place and to take required COVID-19 precautions. The global health pandemic has magnified how racial justice and housing justice are inextricably linked. Already, the threat and impact of COVID-19 disproportionately falls on those with low-incomes or those from communities of color. This training will cover the law and procedure of eviction cases, national, state and local level legislation aimed at addressing housing instability during COVID-19 and how to practice cultural sensitivity when working with clients.
