  • This session will provide an overview of Title IX, VAWA and the role of legal counsel in college and university processes. The presenters will address the significant and recent changes in federal law (and guidance), and the impact on intersection with existing federal, state and local laws. The presenters will focus on the evolution of the role of legal counsel in campus processes and specifically address: public and private institution considerations; traditional student disciplinary processes and their intersection with Title IX and VAWA; the parameters of legal representation in campus processes; and other concomitant legal actions.
