Corporate counsel face many complex ethics issues in their daily practice. Participants in this interactive program, which focuses on transactional practice, will see common ethics issues dramatized in a series of videotaped hypothetical corporate scenarios and “vote” electronically on the correct ethical responses. A highly experienced panel of ethics experts will then offer best practices and provide analysis of the issues presented.
After completing this program, participants will be able to:
- Better understand the ethics issues that arise when working remotely
- Recognize the ethical obligations when supervising others
- Comprehend the ethical implications of replying to all on emails
- Recognize which ethics rules apply to your conduct
- Identify potential issues raised by lateral hiring
- Recognize the ethical issues related to understanding technology, including, in particular, artificial intelligence
- Address the ethical implications of data breaches and cyber threats
- Understand a lawyer's obligations when client's proposed actions are questionable
- Deal with conflicts of interest in the corporate context
- Appreciate the parameters of a lawyer's duty to update the client
