IP Philly, in partnership with Temple University Beasley School of Law, is a full day, in-person program for any attorney who faces IP issues. A comprehensive overview of recent trends, developments, and cutting-edge issues in today’s intellectual property practice will be discussed. 

What you will learn:

  • Federal District Judge John Murphy will moderate a panel of intellectual property lawyers addressing the past year’s most interesting and potentially influential patent law developments
  • Significant state and federal trade secret developments
  • Recent developments in copyright law, with an AI update
  • Updates on the latest trademark cases, including the Supreme Court’s 2023 decisions in Jack Daniel’s Properties, Inc v. VIP Products LLC and Abitron Austria GmbH v. Hetronic International, Inc. 
  • Ethical issues in IP: Year in Review
  • Ethical considerations in communications, using technology and issues involving AI

During lunch, JAMS neutral Hon. Gregory M. Sleet (Ret.) will share insights and best practices for a successful mediation. After serving 20 years on the bench of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, including seven years as Chief Judge, he gained deep experience in a number of areas especially IP litigation involving pharmaceuticals, medical devices and a wide variety of other technologies.
