Retired Santa Clara County Court Presiding Judge Hon. Jamie Jacobs-May Joins JAMS

New Panelist Announcement
San Jose – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Jamie Jacobs-May (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Jacobs-May will be based in the San Jose Resolution Center, where she will specialize as a mediator, arbitrator and discovery master for disputes in a variety of areas including Business/Commercial, Construction, Employment, Family Law, Personal Injury, Real Property and Estates/Probate/Trusts.

Judge Jacobs-May has more than 20 years of judicial experience and most recently served as Presiding Judge of Santa Clara County Superior Court. Judge Jacobs-May was named “Outstanding Jurist of the Year” by the Santa Clara County Bar Association in 2010.

“Judge Jacobs-May has a reputation for handling sensitive cases involving longstanding relationships and for appreciating the interpersonal dynamics at play,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “She has a direct, fair and understanding style that is sought after in the ADR setting. We know she’ll make an excellent addition to the panel.”

Judge Jacobs-May earned an A.B. with honors in psychology and received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkley. She has also taught extensively on mediation, resolution and settlement skills.
