Santa Rosa – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Elaine Rushing (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Rushing will be based in both the Santa Rosa and San Francisco resolution centers, where she will specialize as a mediator, arbitrator and discovery master for disputes in a variety of areas including Agribusiness, Business/Commercial, Construction, Employment, Real Property and Trusts/Estates/Probate.
Judge Rushing served on the Sonoma County Superior Court bench for nearly two decades, including five years as Supervising Judge of the Civil Division. She was the first woman appointed as judge on the Sonoma County Superior Court in 1992.
“Judge Rushing is known for her ability to quickly grasp complex facts and for listening carefully to both sides to achieve a fair resolution,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We’re very happy to have her join our Santa Rosa panel.”

Rushing graduated with honors and Phi Beta Kappa from Syracuse University and received her J.D. from Hastings College of Law, Order of the Coif. She was also a National Defense Fellow at the University of Wisconsin. Rushing is fluent in French, German and the West African language of Hausa. She has served as a faculty member for the Continuing Judicial Studies Program and has taught Probate to Judges new to the assignment program numerous times.
