LOS ANGELES – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Daniel B. Garrie, Esq. to its panel. Mr. Garrie will be based in the JAMS Los Angeles Resolution Center, and available to serve in Seattle, New York and throughout the country. He will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and special master in a variety of disputes including Banking, Bankruptcy, Business/Commercial, Class Action/Mass Tort, E-Discovery, Employment, Health Care, Insurance, Intellectual Property and Securities.
Mr. Garrie is a seasoned e-discovery special master, forensic neutral, mediator and arbitrator who serves on complex, high-stakes cases nationwide in both federal and state courts on matters involving claims into the billions of dollars. He has served as an electronically stored information (ESI) liaison, neutral and expert for the Los Angeles County Superior Court, New York Supreme Court, Delaware Supreme Court, and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Second, Third and Seventh Circuits. His technical and legal experience also make Mr. Garrie uniquely positioned to arbitrate and mediate data breach and complex technology disputes.
As a forensic neutral, Mr. Garrie manages teams that work with law firms and their clients to establish evidentiary baselines for contents of devices containing key documents and conducts forensic searches for evidence of specific documents and attributes that determine dates and possible authorship. He also works with law firms and their clients in assuring complete removal of sensitive data before returning computers to opposing parties, and assists courts and parties involved with compliance issues relating to court orders. These issues include identifying, discovering and/or recovering highly sensitive evidence from hard drives and backup tapes, and mediating keyword search disputes between litigants.
“Daniel is lauded by judges and attorneys alike because of his clarity, conciseness and ability to help parties settle even the most complex disputes,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “He comes to JAMS with an important skillset related to e-discovery and forensics and we know he will make a great addition to our panel.”
“JAMS is the gold standard of ADR providers and I look forward to starting this next chapter in my professional career,” said Mr. Garrie.
Mr. Garrie received his B.A. from Brandeis University and his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law.
