CENTURY CITY – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Joan B. Kessler, Esq., Ph.D. to its southern California panel. Dr. Kessler will be based in the Century City Resolution Center. She will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master to resolve matters in Accounting/Finance, Business/Commercial, Employment, Entertainment, Estate/Probate/Trusts, Health Care, Insurance and Real Property.
Dr. Kessler brings to JAMS more than 30 years of experience practicing law, including ten years as a neutral mediator and arbitrator. She also spent many years as a jury researcher and consultant. Dr. Kessler holds a Ph.D. in Communications, is fluent in Spanish and has worked with litigants from Korean, Persian, Israeli and Armenian cultures, among others, which has enabled her to foster cross-cultural sensitivity in mediation.
Joan is a highly capable neutral and a communications scholar. In addition, her extensive background studying intercultural communications will bring an additional richness and aptitude to her cases and to JAMS. We are eager to have her as part of our esteemed panel.

Dr. Kessler received her A.B. from the University of Michigan, M.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and J.D. from Loyola Law School.
