Orange County, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. Linda L. Miller (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Miller joins JAMS after more than 30 years as a judge in Orange County, California. She spent 16 years handling a family law direct calendar and served for two years on a Superior Court appellate panel. In addition to family law, Judge Miller handled business and commercial disputes, torts, collection matters and real property title and possession cases. As an assigned judge in the Civil Departments of the Riverside County Superior Court, she conducted in excess of 1,200 settlement conferences, with a very high rate of resolution.
Based in the Orange County Resolution Center, Judge Miller will serve as an arbitrator and mediator in a wide variety of disputes, including business/commercial, employment, family law, personal injury/torts and real property.
“Even in the most challenging situations, Judge Miller has demonstrated persistence and perseverance to help parties reach a resolution,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “She is a consummate professional with outstanding analytical skills that will enable her to seamlessly transition to this new role as a JAMS neutral.”
Judge Miller has a wealth of experience with complex financial matters related to family law. Her family law experience, in both trials and ADR, ranges from business and realty valuation to reimbursements to custody disputes to income findings for support to fees to domestic abuse. Judge Miller established the first Children’s Chambers in Orange County, where children are cared for while their parents take care of court business. It subsequently became a model for courts all over the state.
“With preparation and patience, I strive to create an environment that helps parties reach creative solutions together during the resolution process,” Judge Miller said. “I have built a strong foundation of knowledge and experience during the course of my career, which I’m eager to bring to this new role as a neutral at JAMS.”
