San Francisco – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to welcome Hon. Lynn O’Malley Taylor (Ret.) to the panel. Judge Taylor brings over 35 years of experience as a trial court judge and was the first woman elected to the court in Marin County in 1982.
Judge Taylor has served in Contra Costa, Sonoma, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento and Orange counties, and for the last seven years, she served as a judge in the San Francisco Superior Court as part of the Judicial Council’s Assigned Judges Program.
Based in the San Francisco Resolution Center, Judge Taylor will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a variety of practice areas, including business/commercial, construction, employment, family law, estates/probate/trusts and personal injury.
I’m honored to welcome Judge Taylor to our panel in San Francisco. Her ability to overcome obstacles while treating those before her with dignity and respect is admirable. She’s a trailblazer who is known for her optimism and persistence, which are qualities that will serve her well as a neutral with JAMS.
- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO
As supervising civil law judge in Marin County, Judge Taylor eliminated the court’s civil backlog by settling old cases and managing the remaining cases on realistic time schedules. She encouraged mediation and required settlement conferences for all cases that did not settle in mediation. She settled hundreds of cases in partnership with mediation-trained attorneys and experts. While serving in San Francisco, she settled numerous cases assigned to her by other judges.
I am very fortunate to join such a talented group of neutrals. I’m looking forward to applying the knowledge and expertise I’ve developed over the years to help parties resolve disputes in an effective and efficient manner.
- Hon. Lynn O’Malley Taylor (Ret.), JAMS Arbitrator, Mediator and Special Master
Judge Taylor received her B.A., cum laude, from The University of Arizona and her J.D. from San Francisco Law School.
