Former circuit court Judge joins JAMS as arbitrator, mediator and special master/facilitator

New Panelist Announcement

Detroit – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Lita Masini Popke, Retired Judge, Wayne County (Mich.) Circuit Court, to its panel. Judge Popke joins JAMS in Detroit after a distinguished 20-year career as a Wayne County Circuit Court judge, including service as chief judge pro tem and as presiding judge in the Family Law Division.

Judge Popke spent six years on Wayne County’s Business Court, where she was known for efficiently managing the litigation before her and crafting practical and cost-conscious solutions.

Based in the Detroit Resolution Center, Judge Popke will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master/facilitator, handling business and commercial, family law, construction, employment, insurance, personal injury and torts, professional liability, appellate, mass torts, construction defect, surety and real property disputes.

Judge Popke is respected and admired for her ability to find efficient and effective ways to resolve disputes. As an advocate of ADR with a deep understanding of the law, I am confident she will make an excellent addition to our JAMS panel.

During her 12 years of service in Wayne County’s Family Law Division, Judge Popke enhanced the credibility of the family court system for both attorneys and litigants.

I look forward to using my effective listening skills and experience as a trial judge to work with parties to efficiently resolve disputes. I believe persistence and creative problem-solving are key to finding a resolution and am eager to begin this new chapter as a JAMS neutral.

Judge Popke received her B.A. from St. Mary’s College and her J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law.
