Arbitration: A Favored Process?

Presented by Los Angeles County Bar Association

About the Event

This program will begin with an overview of the arbitration process, including the differences between federal and state laws governing arbitration. The panel will explore the reasons for using arbitration, the perceived risk of potential bias, the limited circumstances under which arbitrators’ decisions make it to the appellate courts, and the impact of arbitration, if any, on the development of the law. Finally, the panel will react to the recent focus by the media, legislatures, and other organizations on the use of arbitration.
