IMI Global Mediation Dialogues – Inaugural Session “Minds vs. Machines”
The International Mediation Institute (IMI) is launching its new fundraising webinar series on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The series kicks off with the inaugural session, “Minds vs Machines,” featuring JAMS neutral Giuseppe De Palo, Esq. who will explore how human intelligence and artificial technology are reshaping dispute resolution.
The “Minds vs. Machines” interactive program examines the evolving partnership between mediators and AI tools, using a real-world case study to illuminate both opportunities and challenges. The cross-cultural complexities and ethical considerations at the heart of international mediation make IMI’s globally experienced community the ideal audience to engage with these critical questions.
Created by Giuseppe De Palo with David Bloch as co-author of the central case study, “Minds vs. Machines” was originally launched at JAMS and has since been adapted for audiences across different legal systems and languages, with each iteration deepening our understanding of technology’s role in dispute resolution.
As AI capabilities advance rapidly, the questions this program addresses become increasingly urgent:
- How do we preserve the essentially human elements of mediation while leveraging technological tools?
- What ethical frameworks should guide this integration?
- How do cultural differences affect human-AI collaboration in dispute resolution?
In a world where quality mediation is more essential than ever, IMI remains committed to setting global standards, increasing transparency, and expanding access. To ensure this mission can continue to grow, the new fundraising webinar series is designed to spotlight the key issues and trends that are shaping the future of international mediation.
Every two months, we will host a live virtual discussion that will focus on a timely topic and feature either a one-on-one conversation with an experienced mediator or a panel discussion with diverse speakers from across jurisdictions. These informal, moderated dialogues are designed to offer practical insight, thought leadership, and global perspective on challenges and trends in the field.
Join the conversation and discover how technology is shaping the future of mediation.
