Settlement is often mistaken as concession, but when approached strategically, mediation can be one of the most powerful advocacy tools available to litigators. This program will equip attorneys with concrete skills to engage in facilitated negotiations from a position of strength and achieve superior results for their clients.

Hon. Laurel Beeler (U.S. District Court, Northern District of California) will moderate a distinguished panel featuring Howard Herman of JAMS, Claudia Viera of Viera Mediation & Law, and Geri Green of ADR Services, Inc. Together, they will share insights on selecting the right mediator, preparing effectively, navigating mediation day, and fulfilling ethical obligations, while highlighting negotiation strategies and pitfalls to avoid.

Following the program, attendees are invited to a mixer and refreshments, with opportunities to connect with BASF’s mediation panel and learn more about BASF’s resources and pathways for advancing mediation skills.
