“Fundamentals of Consumer Arbitration and Class Actions in 2026”
Friday, March 13 | 11:30am – 12:30pm ET
Many consumer financial laws have private rights of action, and evolving enforcement under these laws generates a large number of cases in both federal and state courts and in arbitration, because many consumer financial products require consumers to agree to arbitrate disputes. After completing this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand typical arguments used to support and oppose class certification
- Analyze the basic differences between arbitration and litigation, including different strategies relevant to pursuing them
- Navigate the world of mass arbitrations, where hundreds or thousands of claimants file parallel arbitration proceedings alleging similar conduct by the same defendant
