This program offers practical strategies for strengthening effectiveness as an advocate in mediation. Matthew Larrabee, Esq. will highlight ways to leverage advocacy opportunities before the mediation session, including understanding the mediator’s role as a neutral, preparing clients, conducting pre-calls with the mediator, and developing effective mediation briefs. The session also addresses refining key messages, responding to opposing messaging, and using the mediator as a clear translator and communicator of core positions.

Participants will also build negotiation effectiveness by recognizing the implicit messages embedded in financial proposals and outcomes. Emphasis is placed on developing a persuasive advocacy approach that aligns with individual style while applying proven principles of effective mediation advocacy.
