Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, is proud to announce that the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC) will become a member of JAMS International. The SCMC assists Chinese and foreign parties in dispute resolution processes in areas like trade, investment, securities, intellectual property rights, real estate, and insurance matters.
As an independent, third-party commercial mediation institution, SCMC’s team of mediation professionals not only understands Chinese culture, but also has an in-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign commercial legal issues. JAMS will assist SCMC with training and support. Both organizations will add qualified mediators and arbitrators to each other’s panels.
“We hope this relationship will help establish a superior mediation center in one of the strongest markets in Asia,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO, who is in Shanghai this week for an official signing ceremony commemorating the new, strategic affiliation. “We know securing this presence will be important as cross-border disputes continue to grow. Our panelists look forward to providing ADR training to better serve clients in China and abroad.”
“This partnership will help make SCMC the leading mediation provider in China and across Asia,” said Wei Zhang, SCMC’s director. “We look forward to learning from the JAMS panelists and working together to improve and expand ADR services throughout Asia.”
