Hon. Jonathan C. Peters (former) has substantial experience as a mediator and arbitrator in a wide variety of disputes including complex and high-stakes cases. As a former DeKalb County Superior Court Judge and as a respected litigator who has represented plaintiffs and defendants in hundreds of jury trials, Judge Peters’ background makes him a sought-after ADR professional.
Judge Peters left the bench in 1991 to resume his trial practice. Since joining JAMS in 2009, he has served as mediator and arbitrator in a wide variety of matters including business/commercial, personal injury, real property, construction, banking, professional liability, including medical malpractice, and high asset domestic disputes. He has also served as a court appointed neutral/Special Master for the Georgia Supreme Court.
Judge Peters’ approach is to be a good listener and to never assume anything. He views counsel as allies in helping the parties reach a fair resolution.
When appropriate he will share his insights and opinions formed from decades in court and in resolving a wide variety of mediations and arbitrations.
