New York – JAMS, the largest provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of V. James Mann, Esq. to its New York panel and Financial Markets Group. Mann will be based in the JAMS New York Resolution Center, where he will specialize in a variety of areas including securities, banking, arbitration, business/commercial and commercial class actions. In addition, he will become a member of the JAMS Financial Markets Group, a panel of neutrals highly experienced in resolving complex securities and financial markets disputes.
Mann spent 25 years as an in-house attorney with Merrill Lynch where he mediated international and domestic disputes representing multi-million dollar exposures. He also managed complex securities class actions, regulatory issues and litigation claims and tried many National Association of Securities Dealers arbitrations and reparations proceedings.
“Jim has extensive ADR experience and a deep understanding of the financial and securities industries and the laws and regulatory rules that govern them,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We’re thrilled to have him join JAMS and be a part of our financial markets group as well.”

From 1996 to 2003, Mann oversaw all litigation relating to Merrill Lynch’s investment banking and institutional businesses in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia. From 2003 until 2010, he was similarly responsible for litigation involving the firm’s International Wealth Management Division. He also played an instrumental role in the settlement of numerous complex disputes, including serving as an advocate or neutral in numerous ADR proceedings.
Mann graduated with his B.A. magna cum laude from St. Peter’s College in New Jersey and received his law degree from Columbia Law School, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
