BOSTON – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Nancy Holtz (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Holtz will be based in the JAMS Boston Resolution Center and serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a variety of disputes including Business/Commercial, Civil Rights, Construction, Construction Defect, Employment, Engineering and Construction, Insurance, Personal Injury/Torts and Professional Liability.
Judge Holtz joins JAMS after 30 years as a judge, attorney and ADR practitioner. During her 15 years on the bench, she presided over hundreds of civil and criminal matters, including significant multimillion dollar business and construction litigation, as well as employment, wrongful death and other personal injury matters. Prior to that, she served as Secretary and General Counsel of the Executive Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and gained broad experience in the banking, insurance, and telecommunications sectors, and excelled at fostering communities of interest between business, regulatory and public stakeholders.
“Judge Holtz’s rich experience makes her uniquely suited to resolve complex matters,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “Her charismatic style and ability to quickly absorb the facts of the case makes her an excellent addition to the panel in Boston.”
“I know from 15 years as a trial judge that ADR offers parties the best pathway to resolution of almost all disputes,” said Judge Holtz. “Whether it is mediation or arbitration, I know that parties want a neutral who they can trust to be fair, knowledgeable and tenacious. I look forward to joining the talented panel in Boston to deliver the level of service which is expected when parties choose a neutral at JAMS.”
Judge Holtz graduated with her B.S., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Boston University and earned her J.D., cum laude from Suffolk University Law School.
