SAN FRANCISCO – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, is proud to announce that Shirish Gupta received the 2015 Cornerstone Award from the South Asian Bar Association of North America. The award is presented to individuals who best exemplify through their legal work the objectives of SABANA and local SABA chapters, including promotion of the professional development of the South Asian legal community, education advocacy, mentorship, and protection of the civil liberties of the South Asian community.
“Congratulations to Shirish for this well-deserved recognition from SABANA,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “This is a wonderful honor and testament to his significant contributions to the legal community.”
Shirish joined JAMS in 2015 after several years of experience as a successful neutral, as well as a decade and a half of experience as a litigator at top law firms and as a solo practitioner. Shirish is known for his legal acumen and economic prowess, which makes him particularly adept at diving into complex financial/technical disputes, including patents, securities and accounting, and class actions.
SABANA serves as the umbrella organization for 25 regional South Asian Bar Associations throughout the United States and Canada and represents a unified voice for South Asian attorneys. The South Asian American legal community, represented by more than 6,000 attorneys and law students nationwide, is rapidly growing and has made significant contributions in public service, private practice, and academia.
