Ms. Gearin joins JAMS after serving for 26 years as a Ramsey County District Judge in St. Paul. She is most widely known for assuring essential government services for Minnesotans during a 2008 government shutdown. She typically engaged in discussions with parties in an effort to resolve matters and was often successful because of her ability to analyze the underlying issues and her sensitive, practical and direct manner.
“Ms. Gearin knows what it takes to get parties to the table and to successfully resolve disputes,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “Her ability to manage complex matters with integrity and decisiveness makes her an excellent addition to our panel.”
“I have been an advocate of ADR for a number of years and sought to use it whenever possible during my proceedings,” said Ms. Gearin. “I look forward to continuing doing this important work with the very best of ADR providers.”
Ms. Gearin received her B.A., with honors, from College of St. Catherine and her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.
