Prior to joining JAMS, Judge Blewitt served as a Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court of the Middle District of Pennsylvania since 1992, including a term as Chief Magistrate Judge from 2002 through 2010. During his time on the bench, he conducted jury trials, bench trials, settlement conferences and mediations in civil matters that arose on a regular basis in Federal Court.
“Judge Blewitt’s 23-year tenure on the federal bench has earned him a reputation as an experienced and skilled mediator who has successfully settled hundreds of cases over a wide range of civil matters,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We’re thrilled to have him join our panel and help expand our presence in Pennsylvania.”
“I’m excited to continue utilizing the settlement and case management skills I developed while on the bench,” said Judge Blewitt. “I have a passion for helping parties resolve their disputes and I look forward to joining the great team at JAMS.”
Judge Blewitt received his B.A. from University of Scranton and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law.
