Retired Judge Thomas M. Blewitt Joins JAMS in Pennsylvania

New Panelist Announcement
PHILADELPHIA – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Thomas M. Blewitt (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Blewitt will be based in the JAMS Philadelphia Resolution Center and also available to hear cases in Scranton. He will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a variety of disputes including Business/Commercial, Civil Rights, Employment, Energy/Utility, Environmental, Governmental/Public Agency, Insurance, Personal Injury/Torts and Professional Liability.

Prior to joining JAMS, Judge Blewitt served as a Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court of the Middle District of Pennsylvania since 1992, including a term as Chief Magistrate Judge from 2002 through 2010. During his time on the bench, he conducted jury trials, bench trials, settlement conferences and mediations in civil matters that arose on a regular basis in Federal Court.

“Judge Blewitt’s 23-year tenure on the federal bench has earned him a reputation as an experienced and skilled mediator who has successfully settled hundreds of cases over a wide range of civil matters,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We’re thrilled to have him join our panel and help expand our presence in Pennsylvania.”

Judge Blewitt received his B.A. from University of Scranton and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law.
