Specifically, six neutrals were selected to the first ever National Mediators list, including David Geronemus, Esq.; Hon. Edward A. Infante (Ret.); Barbara Reeves, Esq.; Hon. Scott Silverman (Ret.); Hon. Daniel Weinstein (Ret.); and Michael Young, Esq. Following are excerpts regarding the neutrals from the guide.

George D. Calkins II, Esq. was ranked under Construction Mediation in California and is held as one of “the most prominent names” in construction disputes. He is a popular choice as a mediator and arbitrator due to his “real understanding of facts and very tenacious approach.”

Robert B. Davidson, Esq. was listed under International Arbitration and characterized as “superb” and “a dynamic guy who really knows the business.” He often acts as an arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc settings, often in disputes involving complex commercial, insurance, tax and IP issues.

David Geronemus, Esq. was listed under National Mediators and described as “very smart and tenacious.” He is widely considered to be one of the country’s leading mediators. Hon. Daniel Weinstein (Ret.) was listed under National Mediators and has "been at the top of the game nationally for some time.” He is considered a leading choice for insurance and securities disputes, with a highly impressive track record in resolving particularly complex cases. Interviewees describe him as “able and willing to tell each side what is wrong with their case.”

Michael Young, Esq. was listed under National Mediators and is described by market sources as "very talented in allowing time for the parties to see things for themselves,” commending his very effective handling of challenging disputes.

Chambers and Partners is based in London and began as general book publishers in 1969. Chambers’ staff of full-time researchers now prepares legal directories, which assess and rank the world’s leading lawyers according to their reputations among peers and clients. The USA Guide was first introduced in 2003 and ranks the leading firms and lawyers in an extensive range of practice areas throughout the country. The research is in-depth and client focused. The annual Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business is read by industry-leading companies and organizations throughout the U.S. and worldwide, and is widely used by firms for referral purposes.

Law firms and individual lawyers are assessed on technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by the client.
