Chicago – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Stuart E. Palmer (Ret.) to its panel. Justice Palmer will be based in the JAMS Chicago Resolution Center. He will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and special master in a variety of disputes, including Business/Commercial, Class Action/Mass Tort, Employment, Insurance, Personal Injury/Torts, Professional Liability and Real Property disputes.
Justice Palmer joined JAMS after serving for more than 20 years as a Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court and Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Throughout his career, Justice Palmer presided over trials and settlements of the most complex matters that came before the courts, including thousands of civil and criminal matters at all stages of litigation. As a chancery judge and an appellate justice, Justice Palmer received consistent high praise for his handling of a wide variety of complex commercial disputes.
The National Judicial College certified Justice Palmer in mediation in 2006. He participated in countless settlement conferences, often working late into evenings to facilitate mutually agreeable resolutions to difficult matters. As a result, he was frequently called upon to conduct settlement conferences in cases assigned to other judges upon their request and the request of counsel.

Justice Palmer received his B.A. cum laude from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
