WASHINGTON, DC  – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, is pleased to announce that it has been named a mediation provider in ConsensusDocs’ newly updated construction contract forms. ConsensusDocs, which are created by a coalition of 40 construction organizations, are one of the industry’s most widely used sets of standard contracts.

We were honored when ConsensusDocs named JAMS as an arbitration provider in 2014, and we are thrilled that ConsensusDocs contracts now includes JAMS as a mediation provider. The members of our Global Engineering and Construction Group include more than three dozen mediators, arbitrators and project neutrals, many of whom have decades of experience handling public and private construction disputes in the United States and worldwide.

-Phil Bruner, Director of the JAMS Global Engineering and Construction Group

Parties that use ConsensusDocs’ standard contracts now have the option of selecting JAMS to administer a mediation and/or arbitration at the time the contract is signed.  A party may also file a request for mediation or demand for arbitration with JAMS after a dispute has arisen.  JAMS Construction and Surety Rules can be found here

The ConsensusDocs contracts are written and endorsed by 40 distinguished national member organizations of the ConsensusDocs Coalition and represent a large percentage of the firms engaged in the American construction industry. The documents are updated every five years.
