Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, announced today the kickoff of its 40th anniversary celebration. The milestone comes as JAMS expands into a new, larger Resolution Center in Orange County and continues to increase its national presence and global reach.
Since its inception, JAMS has experienced consistent growth and surges of innovation, and has always fielded a strong roster of extraordinary neutrals. The company has broadened how it provides solutions to individuals and organizations of all kinds, which is leading to many exciting developments and new ways to use ADR.
For the past four decades, JAMS has been at the forefront of ADR, evolving and adapting to meet the needs of the legal industry as well as individuals and businesses operating in a changing landscape. During this time, we have expanded not only our physical presence, but also our global reach and service offerings by opening new, state-of-the-art resolution centers; launching innovative new practices; offering ADR solutions to universities and colleges; and hosting joint international panels and training ADR professionals from around the world through the JAMS Foundation.
- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO
As the use of ADR continues to spread internationally, JAMS has been instrumental in fostering global access to leading ADR offerings and neutrals. In response to California’s pivotal Senate Bill 766, which allows out-of-state and non-U.S. attorneys to represent parties in arbitrations in the state, JAMS announced that a JAMS International Arbitration Center is slated to open in Los Angeles later this year. In the meantime, the JAMS International Arbitration Center in New York has been providing attorneys and their clients with increased access to top-of-the-line facilities, features and amenities to create a comfortable experience and encourage efficiency in proceedings.
JAMS has also been at the forefront of initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion in the industry, and encourages others to follow suit. Last year, JAMS became the first ADR provider to offer an inclusion rider in its clause workbook in support of parties’ diversity efforts when selecting an arbitration panel.
Forty years of success is a testament to the tremendous neutrals and associates that make up the JAMS community. We look forward to many more years.

As JAMS celebrates a milestone, the organization is expanding its presence. JAMS is unveiling its new Orange County Resolution Center at Jamboree Center in Irvine on March 26, 2019, with more hearing space and enhanced technology. In addition to the JAMS International Arbitration Centers, JAMS also increased its office space by 50 percent in its New York Resolution Center and is entering a new market with the opening of a St. Louis Resolution Center in early April.
