JAMS neutral Hon. James "Jay" C. Francis IV (Ret.) will be among the speakers at “Ethics for Corporate Lawyers 2024.” Participants in this highly interactive program will view a series of video vignettes that illustrate timely ethics issues. Participants will then be asked to “vote” electronically on what they believe may be the appropriate ethical responses. The panelists will then discuss their best practices and provide analysis of the issues presented.

This session will help participants to understand the:

  • legal ethics rules that apply to a lawyer holding a non-legal position
  • potential ethics issues with outside counsel guidelines
  • guidelines for the use of generative AI
  • ethical issues associated with in-house counsel working remotely
  • limitations on secondment of outside counsel to clients
  • ethical concerns associated with witness preparation
  • circumstances in which in-house counsel may have a duty to elevate concerns
