Mediation and Mindfulness for Experienced Mediators

Presented by The Mediation Society

Hon. Rebecca Westerfield (Ret.), a TMS member and JAMS neutral, and Katarzyna Przyluska, a Polish mediator, practitioner of mindfulness and Weinstein JAMS International Senior Fellow, will facilitate a hybrid discussion on mindfulness.
Mindfulness is the practice of observing and tracking with a non-judgmental mind and reflecting on one’s own attitude and way of acting/intervening in conflict. This approach equips experienced mediators with ways to maintain openness, curiosity and composure in mediation challenges. The use of mindfulness techniques can help reduce stress, maintain inner balance, improve concentration and clarity, and alleviate professional burnout.
The session will examine the use of mindfulness skills in mediation and provide an opportunity to experience mindfulness techniques.
