The Richard DeWitt Memorial Vis Pre-Moot 2024

Presented by the Florida Bar International Law Section

Please join JAMS and the International Law Section of the Florida Bar for the 11th Annual Richard DeWitt Memorial Vis Pre-Moot Competition. The Pre-Moot will host students from top law schools, both domestic and international, to present arguments before panels of volunteer arbitrators in preparation for the most recognized moot competition in the world, the Willem C. Vis Moot. 

The competition will be in hybrid format combining in-person and virtual experiences. This event is designed for practitioners who will step into the shoes of mock arbitrators for challenging arbitration “rounds.” The goal is to provide practical training, foster a deeper understanding of international commercial law, and prepare students for resolving complex international business disputes.

Get Involved as an Arbitrator:
The competition needs 72 to 96 volunteer arbitrators to make this event a success. If you’re passionate about international law and arbitration, this is your chance to play a role in shaping the future of legal professionals. CLE will be available to volunteer arbitrators.
