CalCPA Family Law Conference 2025

Presented by the California Society of CPAs

Designed for CPAs and attorneys, CalCPA's Family Law Conference dives deep into the financial side of family law, where your expertise makes all the difference. This year’s theme, Vested, Unvested & Contested: Complex Compensation in Divorce, frames the conversation as the panels explore some of the most challenging aspects of family law.

The sessions are built to sharpen your skills from case law updates and navigating complex compensation packages—both executive and non-executive—to examining when these packages qualify as assets. Attendees will gain practical insights into dissecting income versus cash flow, including timing, sources, and strategic definitions in family law cases. The annual judges’ panel provides a high-level perspective, with real-world legal experience.

Hon. Vanessa A. Zecher (Ret.) will moderate the interactive judges’ panel will provide family law practitioners with practical guidance on settlement, mediation, and negotiation strategies drawn from the bench. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how judges approach complex cases and what factors contribute to achieving more informed, equitable resolutions.

Through real-world perspectives and judicial experience, this program will help attorneys refine their advocacy in mediation and negotiation, equipping them to better serve their clients in high-stakes family law matters.
